You know this, ever health professional preaches this so why do so many people skip this meal or eat junk? Because they don’t think they have time to make a healthy meal. I didn’t either until I went on Ultimate Reset a couple of months back and I found some healthy breakfasts that I love and I’m even going to share them with you now.
Oatmeal – OK I HATED oatmeal for years I avoided it like the plague.
Then I discovered I was making it all wrong because instant oatmeal
is not the same as making it the old fashioned way and making it the old fashioned way isn’t really any slower to make and it doesn’t have
all those artificial flavors and sweeteners added to it. I can make a good bowl
of oatmeal in about 5-10 minutes. All it takes is:
1 cup boiling water
½ cup of oats
Boil the water in a pan add the oats and cook until it's the consistency of oat meal. (I often wonder, if you've never made oat meal before how do you know what the right constancy is? I mean this reference is used for several things like mixing concrete)
OK so after it's cooked, add
1 TBLS of Grade B Maple Syrup (or Honey) and fixings of choice.
I love to add half an apple and some cinnamon. A nutritionist and
coaching friend of mine adds cocoa, powder and a packet of Stevia (no maple syrup) and
banana’s. Sometimes I like it creamy so I add a half cup of organic plain (no
sugar added) yogurt and a handful of blue berries. It's also good with peaches. You can also throw in a TBS of flax seeds. My point is that it really is versatile; I can have oatmeal for breakfast every day, add
a handful of any fruit and have a different breakfast every day of the week.
Rice Cereal – I never had hot rice cereal until the Ultimate Reset but
it quickly became a favorite. It takes no more time to make then oatmeal and I
add fruit to it same as I would to oatmeal but I also add 3 TBL of chopped
nuts, usually walnuts but I have used Almonds and Pecans too. All it takes is:
¾ cup of water
3TBL of Hot rice cereal
1TBL of Grade B Maple Syrup (or Honey)
Fruit and Yogurt- This one can be really fast if you cut up
the fruit the night before, you can even make enough for the week and put it in
jars or containers to grab and go. Any in season fruit, plain organic (non
sweetened) yogurt and 1 tsp of Grade B Maple Syrup (or Honey). Feel free to top
with granola.
Shakeology- Last but not least, when I’m in a crunch or want
something a little different for breakfast I use Shakeology (typically I have
it for lunch so that is why I don’t have it for breakfast daily).
For those of you who don’t know, Shakeology is not just a
meal replacement shake it also has all of your vitamins for the day, is packed
full of dense nutrition, and it like 7 trips to the salad bar in a glass that
tastes really good! Unlike many other meal replacement shakes that are full of
fillers and sugars (depending on which ones you look at) it has only the
healthiest ingredients. For more information check out www.shakeology.com/thevange
It is so easy, one scoop of Shakeology (any flavor) 1 cup of
water (or Milk) shake and enjoy. Or get fancy with it, in a blender add fruits,
flax seeds, or any ingredients of your choice blend and serve. There are tons
of recipes out there for it. I may even post a blog just on my favorites
someday…
So I hope I have given you plenty of quick healthy options
for breakfast. If you have any others you would to share please feel free to do
so I am always looking for something new to try.

As a side note I'm really hoping the garage gets finished this weekend so I can start on my Bus and tell you all about it. **Fingers crossed!**
